College League Update; Week 6.

CANTON –New England Pro Am Hockey’s College Summer Hockey League played their sixth week of the season on July 29 at the Canton Ice House.

Penguins 3 vs. Sharks 13:

There is no triskaidekaphobia running through the Sharks (4-2-0) locker room.

For the second consecutive week they hung 13 goals on their opponent. The lucky recipient in Week 6 was the Penguins (3-2-1), who fell to the Sharks 13-3.

A 7-0 blanking in the first half pretty much set the tone for the game. The Pens rallied a bit when they scored three, but their output in the frame was still doubled by the Sharks to finalize their submission.

Salem State’s Landon Hasenfus went for three goals to lead the Sharsk offense and the game in scoring. Matt Hammel, Ryan Walsh and Nick Joy also had multiple goals for the victors.

Tom Marhoffa, Alex Avva and Mike Seaone had the goals for the Penguins.

Bruins 4 vs. Vegas 8:

Division leading Vegas (4-1-1) kept just in front of the Sharks for first place as they doubled up and defeated the Bruins (0-6-0) 8-4 in Week 6.

It was a close game when halftime arrived, Vegas leading by just one at 3-2. The Bruins even tied the game early in the second on a goal by John Hagan at 3:53, but Wentworth’s Ed Griffin put Vegas back in front less than a minute later and they did not look back. Vegas scored five in the frame to the Bruins two and the game ended 8-4.

Griffin (2G), Connor Bush (2G), Nate Chase (2G) and Liam McKay (2G) all had multipoint showings in the victory. Hagan, Shamus Peccarro, John Femia and Kevin Perry were credited with the goals for the Bruins.
